John Vellinga

John Vellinga is President of Multiculture Marketing Inc., Canada?s # 1 importer and marketer of Ukrainian alcoholic beverages products. Throughout his business career, Mr. Vellinga has proven to be a strong and visionary leader that can be counted on to implement change and produce results.
In 1991, Mr. Vellinga earned an Engineering degree from the University of Waterloo, widely regarded as one of North America?s top schools. While there, he co-founded the Waterloo Engineering Endowment Foundation, an innovative and widely imitated student-run endowment which is now one of the largest sources of funding for undergraduate Engineering education. To this day, he remains a member of the Foundation?s Board of Directors.
Mr. Vellinga has 18 years of experience in a variety of industry sectors, including manufacturing, logistics, distribution and retailing. In Canada, he has worked with such leading companies such as Procter & Gamble, Canadian Tire and General Motors, in a management and technical roles.
In 1997, he moved to Ukraine and was a founding partner, and Managing Partner of Emergex Business Solutions (EBS). EBS has since grown into Ukraine?s premier management consulting firm, a major employer of professionals, with many multinational and top-tier clients including Pepsi, Lucent, McCain Foods, Northland Power, Coca-Cola, IBM, Baltic Beverages Holdings (Slavutich brewery), Sandora juices and UMC, the country?s largest telecoms company, for which Mr. Vellinga led the effort to launch the first pre-paid cell service in Ukraine. While in Ukraine, Mr. Vellinga served on the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce and was Vice Chair of the CUBI (Canada-Ukraine Business Initiative) Kyiv Chapter.
In 2001, Mr. Vellinga returned to Canada and started Multiculture Marketing Inc. Through its subsidiary Multiculture Bevco Inc., Vellinga?s company imports over 90% of all the Ukrainian alcoholic beverages that reach Canada?s shores. Multiculture Bevco has the number one product in every Ukrainian drinks category in Canada and has won numerous awards for its superb products and marketing techniques. Vellinga has extensive experience on both sides of the business relationship (Ukrainian and Canadian). He is well-versed and experienced in doing business in Ukraine and continues to do so to this day, even while living in Canada.
