On March 22, 2023, CUCC had a pleasure of participating in the V NATIONAL FORUM OF SMEs “Recovery of Ukraine: the role of business associations” in Kyiv.
We would like to thank the organizers Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine / Ukrainian CCI and UNDP Ukraine for hosting such a successful event. Canada-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce was represented by Executive Director for Ukraine Emma Turos and Yuriy Kryvosheya, Managing Partner & President of PJSC “Toronto-Kyiv” and CUCC Vice President for Ukraine. The main goal of the Forum was to synchronize vision of the participants regarding tools and vectors of Ukraine’s recovery during the wartime and in the post-war period. The event was opened by Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, David Arakhamia, Head of the “Servants of the People” party in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Chyzhykov Gennadiy, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, John W.H. Denton AO, Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Jako Silje, Permanent Representative of UNDP in Ukraine, Andreas Huber, Director of the Swiss Cooperation Program of the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine.
During the panel discussion “The role of the international business community and international business associations in the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine” Yuriy Kryvosheya emphasized the importance of reputation and subjectivity of Ukrainian business for international partners and investors. “All of us, the International Chambers, International Organizations, businesses, entrepreneurs, etc., have to work very closely in order not merely to effectively create a proper bridge between reputable Ukrainian businesses and the International investment community, but also to systematically help Ukrainian business to become a true subject that is well placed at the table when the new rules of the game are being formed.” – said Yuriy. Speakers discussed the role and importance of activities of the business associations in the areas of support and adaptation to unfavourable business conditions in Ukraine, strengthening of the country’s economy and development of international relations, attraction of investments, and export promotion.
