Canada-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce (CUCC) was pleased to host its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday, March 26th at The Old Mill Toronto, welcoming members, partners, and friends for an evening of meaningful engagement, reflection, and forward-looking dialogue.
The AGM provided an important opportunity to reflect on the past year’s accomplishments, celebrate the strength of the CUCC community, and reaffirm our shared commitment to advancing Canada-Ukraine economic relations during a critical time for Ukraine’s recovery and growth.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who joined us. The continued engagement, trust, and collaboration of our members, partners, and supporters are the foundation of CUCC’s success and impact. It is through this strong and active community that we are able to drive meaningful initiatives and foster lasting connections between Canada and Ukraine.
The evening began with opening remarks from Ambassador Andrii Plakhotniuk, whose leadership and ongoing commitment to strengthening bilateral relations set an inspiring tone for the event. We were also honoured to hear a video address from Ambassador Natalka Cmoc, delivered alongside CUCC Vice President in Ukraine Yuriy Kryvosheya, highlighting the importance of sustained partnership and cooperation between our countries, particularly in the context of Ukraine’s ongoing resilience and reconstruction.
A key highlight of the evening was the fireside chat between CUCC President Zenon Potichny and Kirill Bondar, Ph.D. Drawing on his extensive experience and firsthand knowledge, Dr. Bondar shared a grounded, insider perspective on where real investment opportunities in Ukraine stand today. The discussion offered valuable insights into the evolving economic landscape and sparked thoughtful dialogue among attendees, reinforcing CUCC’s role as a platform for informed exchange and collaboration.
The AGM also marked an important moment of growth for the organization with the election of new members to the Board of Directors. We are pleased to congratulate Myroslav Chwaluk, Tetiana Sabitova, and Maaz Yasin on their election. We look forward to their leadership, fresh perspectives, and contributions as CUCC continues to expand its impact and support its members.
As we reflect on a productive year behind us, we remain focused on the work ahead. CUCC continues to serve as a vital bridge between Canada and Ukraine, supporting business development, investment, and collaboration at a time when it is needed most.
We thank everyone who made this evening such a success and look forward to continuing this important work together in the year ahead.
