On January 30, Canada-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce (CUCC) had the honour of hosting a CUCC Member Breakfast with His Excellency Andrii Plakhotniuk, Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada. The gathering brought together CUCC members for a meaningful and forward-looking discussion focused on strengthening Canada–Ukraine economic ties at a critical moment for Ukraine.
The breakfast provided a valuable opportunity for CUCC members to introduce themselves and share insights into their work in Ukraine and in support of Ukraine’s economy. Discussions highlighted the breadth of Canadian business engagement—from trade and investment to innovation, reconstruction, and long-term development—and underscored the vital role the private sector plays in supporting Ukraine’s resilience and recovery.
The conversation emphasized how expanded trade, investment, and commercial partnerships between Canada and Ukraine can drive sustainable growth and contribute to Ukraine’s long-term economic stability. CUCC members shared practical, on-the-ground perspectives on opportunities, challenges, and the importance of continued collaboration between businesses, governments, and institutions.
Ambassador Plakhotniuk shared key priorities for Ukraine at this pivotal stage, stressing the importance of deepening bilateral economic cooperation, mobilizing private sector engagement, and creating new pathways for trade and investment. His remarks reinforced the shared commitment to building strong, mutually beneficial economic relationships between Canada and Ukraine.
CUCC sincerely thanks Ambassador Plakhotniuk for his time, openness, and thoughtful engagement, and extends its appreciation to the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada for cooperation, and support.
Strong partnerships, open dialogue, and sustained collaboration remain essential to unlocking new trade opportunities and supporting Ukraine’s economic resilience, recovery, and future growth.
