Canada-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce was pleased to participate in the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026, held in Gdańsk, Poland on June 25–26, 2026.
CUCC was represented at this important international gathering by President Zenon Potichny, Vice-President Mark Vytvytskyy, Vice-President Markiyan Markevych, and Board Member Katherine Vellinga.
Co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine, the conference brought together government leaders, international institutions, investors, businesses, civil society representatives, and recovery stakeholders from around the world to advance support for Ukraine’s reconstruction, investment, and long-term resilience.
Throughout the event, CUCC representatives had the opportunity to connect with partners, members, and friends from Canada, Ukraine, and the broader international community. These meetings and conversations provided an important opportunity to discuss Canada’s continued role in Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction, as well as the practical ways Canadian companies, investors, institutions, and experts can contribute to Ukraine’s rebuilding efforts.
This year’s Ukraine Recovery Conference placed strong emphasis on concrete investment agreements, private-sector participation, regional and local development, energy security, critical infrastructure, logistics, resilience, and defence. Importantly, defence was included as a formal recovery track, reflecting the reality that Ukraine’s reconstruction is directly connected to its security, resilience, and ability to defend itself.
For CUCC, one of the key takeaways from Gdańsk is that Ukraine’s recovery agenda continues to align closely with areas where Canadian expertise can make a meaningful contribution. This includes energy, defence cooperation, critical infrastructure, investment, project financing, technology, regional reconstruction, and support for private-sector partnerships.
The conference also reinforced the importance of sustained international cooperation and meaningful engagement with the private sector. As Ukraine continues to rebuild while defending its sovereignty, business partnerships, investment tools, risk mitigation solutions, and practical cooperation between trusted partners will be essential to supporting Ukraine’s economic recovery and future growth.
CUCC looks forward to continuing these important conversations in Canada and further strengthening Canada-Ukraine business cooperation, including at the 5th Annual Rebuild Ukraine Business Conference, taking place on Thursday, November 26, 2026, at The Omni King Edward Hotel in Toronto. The conference will focus on Canada-Ukraine cooperation in energy, defence, and critical minerals — three strategic areas central to Ukraine’s recovery, resilience, and long-term economic security.
