On September 11, Canada-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce (CUCC) had the great pleasure of welcoming President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his delegation to Toronto and participating in two important engagements highlighting the growing economic partnership and deep community ties between Canada and Ukraine.
The day began with a high-level business roundtable organized by the Business Council of Canada, bringing President Zelenskyy together with senior executives from leading Canadian companies, financial institutions, investment funds, and business organizations.
Following the signing of the Declaration for a 100-Year Partnership between Canada and Ukraine, the discussion focused on how the strengthened bilateral relationship can be translated into concrete business cooperation, investment, and long-term partnerships between Canadian and Ukrainian companies.
During the roundtable, President Zelenskyy highlighted several areas with significant potential for expanded Canada-Ukraine cooperation, including defence and defence technologies, energy, agriculture, banking and finance, infrastructure, reconstruction, and support for veterans.
A key theme of the discussion was the importance of engaging Canadian businesses in Ukraine today. Investment and commercial cooperation are not only about Ukraine’s future recovery and reconstruction. They can also contribute to Ukraine’s current economic resilience, create new opportunities for Canadian and Ukrainian companies, and establish the foundation for sustainable, mutually beneficial economic growth.
Later in the day, the CUCC team was honoured to participate in a Ukrainian Canadian community event with President Zelenskyy. The gathering once again demonstrated the extraordinary strength, unity, and commitment of the Ukrainian community in Canada and the important role it continues to play in strengthening ties between the two countries.
CUCC is proud to continue working alongside our Canadian and Ukrainian partners to build on this momentum and translate the growing Canada-Ukraine relationship into practical business cooperation, investment, new partnerships, and concrete projects that benefit both countries.
We extend our sincere appreciation to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his delegation, as well as to our partners at the Business Council of Canada, for creating important opportunities for dialogue between government and the Canadian business community.
CUCC remains committed to supporting Canadian and Ukrainian companies as they explore opportunities, develop partnerships, and contribute to Ukraine’s resilience, reconstruction, and long-term economic growth.
